SV Ab s c h r i f t. The child Peter Preidel came to our clinic on 30.8. in severe condition for admission. Admission diagnosis: dyspepsia. The examination I conducted revealed the findings of a child in a reduced general condition, who had a bad panniculus adiposus, bad turgor and tonus, badly bleeding skin and mucous membranes, findings that speak for dystrophy. The ear examination carried out on the same day at the local ear clinic, which was carried out because the child had been antrotomized shortly before, did not reveal any patho- logical findings, the condition of the child required, except an immediate blút transfusion, gastro-intestinal flushing, a complete discontinuation of normal diet in the form of carrot soup and rice mucus. Two days after the admission, as a result of increasing intoxication, there followed. The condition of the child was such that we had to prepare the child's mother for the possibility of the infant's death, which she informed the father of the baby, who came to the clinic the same morning and whom I, also in a gentle manner, followed. At that time (1.9.) the child's symptoms of illness and collapse were reduced by massive therapy and self-sacrifice (sithe sick chart) and it could almost be said of a miracle, as I also later told the father that the seriously ill dystrophic child survived this intoxication well and from now on prospered well. The diet was now in women's milk, rice slime and carrot soup. Since my station was now the task of the so-called observation station (transit station for all seriously ill, new children, which has the task to avoid the spread of infections and contagious diseases in the house), the child was transferred to the corresponding station.
