3114 We filled out the form for Aryan apartments handed to us by the N.S.V., the block administrator confirmed our information and we handed over the request together with a more detailed explanation /see supplement I./ of the N,S. V. for forwarding. - Then my husband returned to his troop. The answer. of the commissioner of the Nazi Party for housing-- I received on the 6th of October. I turned again to the SS-Supplementary Office, which rang the case and now informed me that it could not achieve anything, since the decision of the commissioner of the NSDAP was to be regarded as final. ----- Our opinion on the decision of the NSDap representative for housing is as follows: Ad l./ The statement that a tenant may not hold two flats in principal rent, even if it is a Garcoh niere, we consider in principle a necessary war measure, but in our case it is quite a decision foreign to the natural sense of the people. For a third room is due to us in any case, even without my mother coming to us. Whether we live in a 3 room apartment or a 2 room apartment with a garconniere with l Wohnraun, practically the same living space. In our case, it is exactly half the floor, the second half of which is the 3 room flat of Dr.J. Strobl. In the mezzanine of this house, the analogue garconniere is actually connected by a puree to the side apartment and two smaller apartments or a large apartment were rented each, as the demand showed.- Also in our present apartment there is a clear door niche, which provides for the breakthrough into the garconniere.- In the l.Stock of the house this niche is extended as an entrance door to the 3rd living room.- I want to say that it is simply a formal matter, under the face angle of reason, how the rooms of this dwelling house are theoretically named and managed at the administrative and utilization point of the emigration fund, but in practice it is about the actual living space that we deserve. If, more than ever, the exhortation is given to all the people today to support not the rigid laws, but the personal rights. /I remind you of the black corps' school examples, then we might well hope in our case that the regulation quoted in l/ does not have to be an obstacle to our housing assignment. Ad 2./ The fact that our apartment request came to a not competent place happened through the N.S.V., which gave us -the instruction and the form and forwarded the request. A new request for housing on the form JW /Jew's apartments/ with the NSDAS's representative for housing is not possible for us in the wartime because it would cause us considerable expense and trouble and I must therefore also give up the already mentioned neighbourhood assistance in the house, without which however I could not possibly deny my planned circle of duties with children and paralyzed butter.
