The faculty was constantly striving to alleviate the material plight of the mostly unmediated ethnic German theologians as much as possible. Furthermore, the introduction and design of the German divine service was promoted to the best of its ability. All of these efforts constitute a valuable asset in a country-wide way, because at least for the time being it was possible to preserve historically acquired positions of Germanism within the protectorate limits in a often hopelessly seeming struggle, and at all times firmly established, from permanent loss, and because they contributed in their way to the further disintegration of the ground-based German ethnic group, which is indispensable for the national construction of the protectorates. A second, no less important field of activity for the Prague German theological faculty is the Sudetengau.
