78 Mecorandum Cropprits The political redesign of Central Europe, which in its course also brought the German university back into the immediate possession of the Great German Empire, has at the same time placed this oldest stronghold of German spirit beyond the realm of the purely scientific before a series of national and ethnic special tasks, the aim of which partly includes the Sudeten region, which it has always dominated, and partly the same countries and peoples pre-occupied in the east and south. The Prague German theological faculty is also involved in this national dis- cip- tion in a considerable amount. Essentially, a threefold field of activity can be distinguished. The first lies on the ground of today's Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Due to the March events of the failed year, the German theological faculty of Prague has become the guardian and trustee of the remains of German Catholics who remain within the Protectorate. In recognition of their responsibility to the people and conscience, the German theo- logical faculty has therefore not hesitated to initiate a series of measures aimed at securing the interests of the people, and to bring them to a partial implementation. $}$ zi
