STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 479, sig. 109-4224

- 2 - 2 According to the experience gained from the activities of the former Czech political parties and youth organizations, it was known that the supporters reacted strongly to monetary subsidies, such as interest-free loans, monetary representatives, and so on. Especially among the working-class youth, who were the worst in material terms, the NG therefore promised itself special propagandistic successes of an action that would be reared in accordance with these conditions. Therefore, the Jungehe problem was raised from this side and, following the German marital status loan, a single aid of K 1.o00.- for the establishment of the house stand was envisaged for poor bridal people up to 30 years of age. The prerequisite for the grant was the NG membership and the endorsement by the relevant NG instances. (In contrast to the German marital status, the action at that time was an aid without reimbursing obligations.) In further success, of course, biological effects were also hoped for, e.g. an increase in maritality and, therefore, the propaganda on this side as well as on very Czech-national tendencies was shaped. A board of trustees was formed for the business transaction and the necessary funds were thought to be made available through donations and voluntary contributions from the circles of the NG Youth Organisation. However, over time it became apparent that the number of applications submitted was much too small in capital reserves. Already at the end of 1940 the number of unfinished applications had increased to 6000, which is why the acceptance of further applications was blocked. This ban has no longer been lifted because the financial side of the action has become increasingly bleak, as voluntary donations as well as regular contributions from the NG youth organisation (some circles had introduced K 1.- special contribution per member monthly) have proved to be completely inadequate in their overall results.
