English Translation

e8 39a In June 194l I was caught in the shop of my merchant Hans Tomann, when I took a sausage, which lay at hand in front of me on the desk. The shop was full of people and I was watched. If I had thought before and during the act, I would have been careful to take something else, because I wanted to continue the next day and had tickets in your pocket already. I was led to the police by a guard at that time, which was the beginning of the most difficult period of my life. I was then released from the police, as I confessed, but I was so ashamed of my behavior, whose injustice I now see as leaving Karlovy Vary. When I returned, I volunteered to the police. Now, after the trial, I am so clear about what I committed and I assure myself that I would never get away with it again, even if the sentence was mild. That is why I ask you, Doctor, to help me in my distress and to present my case to the court, perhaps then I can still get a milder judgment and I promise you that I will start a new life. I have done everything out of a false shame towards my parents and to help my family members. Heil Hitler ! Sign. dzt. Wien III. Fasangasse 4, Ruth Klier e.h. 37520
