- 3 The Galician district was hit by a flood disaster in the river basin of the Dnjestr with its tributaries on 2.9.194l. A special report on the high-water disaster has been presented. The Polish police have fulfilled the tasks assigned to it satisfactorily. She was mainly involved in the trade and harvesting operations in the old territory of the General Government, in the field of foreign trade and in the fight against criminals. In the reporting period, seven bandits were placed by the Polish police and shot in firefights in the majority; the rest was arrested last. For good services, Polish police officers were paid l0.560.- Zl. of rewards. The services of the Ukrainian police were equal- if satisfactory. In the whole district of Galicia follows through the gendarmerie used there the registration of the Ukraine auxiliary police. To date, some 2,500 men have been captured, who are trained in three-month courses at the school for Ukrainian police in Lviv. In the future, all former Polish police posts in the Galician district are to be occupied by Ukrainian police. The skeleton for this is the men pulled out of the Ukrainian police of the districts of Krakow and Lublin. During the period under review, the activities of the Technical Emergency Aid were designed to remedy the damage caused by the flood disaster in Galicia. All available forces were used for this purpose. The scrapping work in the Krakow Forts was temporarily stopped.
