Copy ! 16 Division Justice II E I 705/43 Prague, 24 March 1943. To Ministerial Councillor Dr. Gies in the House Subject: Criminal proceedings against the syndicus Dr. Bruno Helbig-Neupauer from Prague vII. With reference to today's lecture by Mr Staats-Secretary, I am telling you the following about the state of the proceedings: on 6 March, a judicial arrest warrant was issued against Helbig-Neupauer, who had been in police custody since December 19942. The main reason for the proceedings against Helbig is the following: Compared with two professors of German nationality who have been more familiar to him for a long time, Helbig-Neupauer dropped a series of grossly heretical and defaitist manifestations in June and July. In detail, he spread that 4-Obergruppenführer Heydrich had been misplaced by the Reichsführers-4 Himmler. It is generally known that the top leaders would kill each other. Heydricht was considered a GPU, i.e. a bloodhound. In the attack he had acted shamefully and cowardly. What had happened at the funeral was all theatre. The Führer was a fantasist who was rejected by serious people. Certain people, including the Führers, would have to say that there was no peace in the past. No state wanted to make peace with him, because more sensible people had to come. The thousand-year-old Reich of the Germans was a dream for Hitler. The leading economists were of the opinion that Germany was economically ruined.
