In exchange of several machines with the management of Slovak state railroads was achieved a greater unification of locomotive lines. Newly delivered locomotives were improved by equipment increasing efficiency of operation. New passenger cars were made of welded steel. their construction was so improved that even at speeds above io0 km/h. their quiet operation was ensured. Also the heating of passenger cars was further improved. In addition to its own program works, the main repairs of the German Reich Railway and Slovak state railways were also carried out in ČMD workshops according to the Convention. The supply and procurement service managed despite the difficulties caused by the war conditions to complete the planned and timely supplies and thus ensure the need for the vehicle. Garbage and old materials were carefully collected and used. The statistical service was continued in the work followed by statistical surveys according to Ríš and DR. The statistics on imports, exports and transit of goods were newly introduced according to the imperial provisions. In 1940, data for the Railway Statistics in the German Reich were first supplied as possible; these data on the Protectorate Railways are to be taken into the special section of the Reich's Statis- tics. In addition, the machine processing has been expanded and improved to further accounting documents. On January 1940, a new timetable organized by the changed operating and transport conditions against the original winter timetable 1939/1940. It took account of the strong burden of trains in certain connections, which resulted in a certain extension of the time. During the autumn period certain restrictions were also made in passenger transport. Due to their slightness they did not have any influence on economic life. Over the past and after the difficulties caused by the harsh winter, both in inland and transit transport, the performance of the railways in the Protectorate was still unprecedented. In order to speed up the trans-right goods, transit connections were agreed with the German Reichské dráhy. Road-mobile traffic was again limited and maintained only for important and necessary tasks in the administrative year. For this reason, numerous other connections were stopped. The automotive workshop in Prague- Vršovice carried out these reconstructions as well as major repairs of ČMD road vehicles and towcars as before. The provisions of regulations 21 were replaced for the mutual railway transport between the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and other territories of Ríš from 1 January 1940.
