6/ 81 for the recipients and military pensioners already resident in the German Reich by the Reichsführer fz, Reichskommissar für die Festigung deutschen Volkstums, or by the authority to which the beneficiaries report. The payment of the pensions begins with the first of the month following the emigration, with the persons already resident in the German Reich immediately, with effect from 1 January 1940. The day of emigration and the address of the recipient are communicated by the official German immigration and return office to the faithful authority. The amount of the remuneration to be paid for the time being shall be determined on the basis of the gross amount paid as a pension by Jtalien. The remuneration fixed in Lire shall be converted into Reichsmark at the preferential rate of 4,5o Lire = 1, RM. If there are sums which are likely to be below the comparable pensions under German law, a reasonable sum must be paid at first. The final alignment of the previous remuneration with the comparable pensions under German law is based on proposals made by the supervisory authorities on the basis of the experience gained during the provisional payment. With regard to the care of the beneficiaries of the Italian state railways and the care for the South Tyrolean southern railway pensioners, reference is also made to the decrees of the Reichsverkehrsminister of 8 February, 19 April and 20 July 1940 (see Appendices p. 209, 210). 2. Beneficiaries from the Baltic countries, Galicia and Volhynia The care of the beneficiaries from the Baltic countries, Galilee and Volhnia regulate the supervision of the decree of the Reich Minister of Finance and the Minister of Neichs of the Jnnern of 20 January of the pension = recipients from 1940, the decree from the Reich Ministry of Finance of 15 April 1940, a letter from the Neich.
