It is assumed that this adjustment to the lower price level will gradually take place, so that our industry has enough time and the opportunity to adapt technically and economically to the reduced prices. On the other hand, the above-mentioned OeB communication represents a sudden intervention, by which the glass industry is severely damaged and the rationalisation process and the technical adjustment to such a degree that they become possible. Since this is also a fundamental question, the secretariat of the price department takes action to change the above-mentioned price ruling to the effect that the so-called "Dresdner price tariff" is not a maximum tariff, but, as in the rest of the Reich, a minimum tariff. In the context of customs integration, it is also necessary to resolve the question of prices on export to the rest of the area. According to the provisions in force in the Protectorate, exports to the Reich must be made ex customs, whereas customers in the Reich have to sell at the previous prices, i.e. including the previous customs duty. We have received the news that in some branches /shoemaking/the price commissioner has issued the order that the customers register these price differences, which in some sectors reach considerable amounts, separately. Since these are non-observed geminnes resulting from the tariff and price breakdown, vir recommend that they be included in the protection rate in a special fund; the most appropriate use would then be to support the branches which have been damaged by the customs and price integration. The technical implementation of this measure would be simple; it would be sufficient for the OPB to ensure that our exporters could offer and buy into the empire at the prices there, whereby the Supreme Price Authority would determine what amount or how much per cent of the sales price the exporters have to pay to a certain frond.
