STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 1566, sig. 109-4/1320
English Translation
66 - 3 - four requests from the ceramic industry have been made so far, in principle the agreement on the price of petrol and lubricants has been approved. The OPB has already approved the calculation standard for the book, low, flat and other types of printing; the request of the rubber cartel HEvEi for successive acceptance of the sales conditions and the prices of the Reich cartel WITEKL has also been decided favourably. At the suggestion of the price committee, a circular was sent out to draw the attention of the virtuous groups to the fact that they are considering in good time the measures that will be necessary to introduce them until the effectiveness of the binding powers of the chairmen of the vitual groups on interim market protection expires. This circular also draws the attention of the economic groups to the fact that the binding measures adopted are not, in principle, renewed. It is therefore necessary for the groups to make the necessary preparations in good time. This is particularly necessary in the branches where price adjustment will result from a pressure on our price level. Here it will be necessary to counter this pressure by technical completion of production, speeding up the rationalization and improvement of the production and sales order within the cartel organizations. In connection with the OPB's decision, whereby the prices for the lighting fittings and other glass products are introduced as laximal prices according to the agreement of the so-called "Dresdner Kartell", an important fundamental question arises. In these branches of our glass industry prices are higher than in the Reich. In accordance with the principles laid down, price adjustment should be based on the principle of "coordination to the highest prices in the rich". It is also clear that this price adjustment is to be the result of those forces which assert or assert themselves on the market by abolishing customs protection and not by a sudden official measure.
