- 5 - 21 Zu 2.: Originally there was a strong racial difference between Germanic Germans and Slavic Czechs. However, the Czechs' thousand-year membership of the old Reich or German-led states has determined not only the political and social, but also the racial structure of the Czech people, i.e. largely changed. From the beginning, a German-Czech blood mixture took place in the Bohemian-Mauritian region. As the Czech princes brought their wives from German noble families, so did the bourgeoisie and the peasants mix with Germans. Until then - even on the flat land - the relationship between Germans and Czechs of 5 : 3 has turned into the opposite of 3 : 5, which can only be explained by a quiet repopulation of the corresponding number of Germans to Czechs, whose descendants today - with Czech or German names - live as Czechs. On the other hand, during the 19th century, a considerable number of Czechs have been identified, and the result of a thousand-year historical process is a broad racial alignment of the two peoples, so that today only a minority has retained original racial characteristics. The strong reception of German blood also explains the ability of the Czech people to produce, to a far greater extent than, for example, the Slavic Poles, important civil, technical and cultural achievements, especially since the beginning of the 19th century.
