1a Subject: The 'Czechoslovak Legion' in France. With the collapse of the French state in 1 940, the so-called 'Czecho-Slovak legion in France', established by the Czech National Committee in Paris l939, has also ceased to exist. Although parts of the Czechoslovak legion succeeded in getting to England or Africa in the army of the French General De Gaule, there are still large parts in internment camps in the unoccupied part of Frarkreich. Concerning the treatment of the former so-called "Czechoslovac legion" is often unclear. It seems necessary to note the following: 1. Members of the Czech Protectorate who have gone abroad either before or after the establishment of the Protectorate in order to enter the Czechoslovak Legion 2. Czechs who have stayed in France for a long time and were forced by the French authorities on the initiative of Czech emigrant authorities to enter the Czechoslovak Legion 12113 in France.
