B Yes/Gg. Betr.: Czech Cultural Council (Kulturni rada) When the Second Republic came into being after the collapse of Benesch, the Czech endeavour to achieve a streamlined centralization and collection of forces through organizational summary and unification in all areas of life was shown everywhere. Thus arose on externally private initiative, however, with clearly recognizable backmen and interest groups of all major previous parties, in February 1939 also the Czech Cultural Council, which occurred from the beginning as the mass organization and planning point of any Czech cultural work, both in the cultural-political as well as in the school-educational sense. Even after the establishment of the Protectorate and the founding of the NG, this tendency towards unification was maintained. Since in a cultural work of theNG no counter-pole against the newly founded Cultural Council was created, it was therefore established, with the approval of the President Hácha, that the Cultural Council should also take over the cultural work. In order, on the other hand, to make the Council of Culture not entirely dependent on the literary fate of the NG, which appears to be secure at the beginning stage, it became to the well-proven Czech National Council and from this juncture, which to this day already appears the peculiar name of the Organi cic Council of Cultural Affairs, Central for Cultural and National Community at the Czech Nat.
