41 The German Minister of State Prague, 12 May 1944. for Bohemia and Moravia I 1 8 - 1755/193 8 N- Secret HOBA (.S V. 1944 tetnin 1.) PS: An -Brigadeführer Ministerialdirektor Berndt, Berlin, Reichspropagandaministerium. Dear Ministerial Director! I wish to inform the Minister of the Ministry of the State that the question of the service of Czechs to the Homeland Flak was presented to the Führer in January of the year. The Führer has decided that the Czechs must not come into contact with the weapon. The question of whether Chechens can be used as plac helpers was discussed by the Führers with the Reiehsmarschall. It is not known whether and with what result this has happened. In the meantime, no position can be taken on the question of the operation of light flak weapons by members of the large, particularly to be protected industrial plants. The Minister of State personally is of the view that only in very special cases the attraction to the flak service could be allowed to the extent described, under the suspension of a strict review of the Czech flak workers selected for this purpose. I.A. gez. Dr. Landmann.
