In the draft, I had suggested to the group leader that the political department's interest in Hippius's v8lerpsychological studies should be unmistakeably demonstrated, stressing that the university administration has not until then been very much in favour of Hippio's work. The rector asked for this paragraph to be deleted, since this is an attack on the curator, who may also be referred to him as rector. I then deleted this paragraph, but it is a matter of fact that there is no real support for Hippius in higher education. It is very clear that the whole affair has been treated either with passive resistance or with equanimity./The second difference of opinion refers to a remark of the content that the National History Institute of Zatschek, in consultation with the Rectorate, should prepare the history of the university. Some time ago, the rector had sent a circular letter to all university teachers, to whom I had decided that Zatschek had now been assigned to the university history. Since the rector had also asked me to take care of the funding of this work by the Reinhard Heydrich Foundation, I was of the opinion that the history of the university was no longer the task of a commission of the Academy of Sciences, but of the National History Institute of Zatschek. Magnificence Buntru told me in the interview that the assignment to Zachek could not be interpreted in the above sense, although he also believed that the academic profession was actually not the right place for university history and would probably not succeed in carrying out this task.
