2 The red clover harvest was relatively low this year. Nevertheless, 600 tons of red cleavage were made available to the Reich xi against a return of the same quantity of lucerne. As a result, 8 kg of red Clover and 8 kg Lucerne can be exported per hectare of cultivated area. (In the Reich, the allocation amounts to 1.6 - 2 kg of red clover and 10 kg of lucerne per hectare of cultivated area.) Sugar beet seed was sufficiently available. Nevertheless, 52 wagons of the best German variety were introduced and distributed to the local sugar factories. It is a very rich beet that brings more sugar and fodder per hectare than the local varieties. The production of commercial fertilizers has increased compared to the previous year for nitrogen; for phosphoric acid it has reached the same level. The potash deliveries of the empire are to be increased by 10.O00 t against the previous years. Great difficulties have arisen due to the transport situation. It was therefore necessary to load Thomas flour into open wagons. 4. Food industry and public needs: The supply of milling products to the population was without disruption. After the completion of compulsory deliveries of cereals on 31.1.44, it can be concluded that the farmers on average fulfilled their obligations in general. The proportion of wheat remains below the expected yield. In view of the unfavorable failure of the potato harvest, greater quantities of bread grain had to be made available to the protectorate in accordance with the procedure in the Reich. To a small extent, the compensation is obtained by the issue of meat-and-bone-fruits. For consumers who have not cellared, potato rations had to be reduced from 2.5 kg to 1.5 kg per week. For restaurants, it was ordered that 50 g of bread stamps should be delivered for a potato dish. The meat requirement could be fully covered. In the meantime, the Reich was agreed on the cessation of live cattle deliveries from the Protectorate; on the other hand, the production of beef canned meat for Wehrmacht purposes will continue. U Milk delivery to the dairies continued to have a return. As a result of the reduced milk supply, butter production has also decreased, so that the ration for normal consumers had to be temporarily reduced by 50%, i.e. to 70 g per supply period. The issue of margarine and pig fat went smoothly. Negotiations with the Reich for the full coverage of the defect in fat were concluded. The Reich will supply part of the still existing shortage in the form of butter and the rest in fat pigmeat, since the closure of the fat gap will make it unnecessary for further compensation transactions to be made between sugar and oil, the Protectorate will provide the Reich with the quantities of sugar still held back for these purposes.
