Julius P e s c h a t , controller of the state authority in Brno, is assigned to the service of the price monitoring office at the magistrate M.Ostreu, on 28.4.19894 in Nesselsdorf, Krs. Neutitschein geb., röm.kath., verh., in Schönbrunn, Dr- Goebbelsstrasse No. 682, Bez. Wagstadt, who familiarized himself with the subject of his interrogation and exhorted the truth, states the following: On 25.9.1943 the Reichsprotector ordered that strict baggage checks be carried out on all railway stations throughout 24 hours. I was commissioned to carry out this inspection by the director M a l i n o v s k y of the Magistrate M.Ostrau. A certain director for the control was not designated, but I have had the supervision of the entire control at M.Ostrau-Witkowitz station. I have made orders as to how the other officials of the economic control and the price control as well as the Reg. police have to set up themselves, so that the control actually seemed to be perfectly guaranteed. As far as I am aware, 5 officials from the economic and price monitoring control department and 2 officers from the Protectorate Criminal Police and 4 uniformed members of the Reg. police department were assigned to assist officials in civilian clothing by agreement of the competent authorities. With the Kohtrolle itself, the uniformed Pol. officials have nothing to do. Their task is merely to make the disembarking persons aware of the baggage check and to instruct them to take the place.
