My task was to assist the officials of the economic control in carrying out the baggage inspection. Apart from me, the same task was assigned to the staff guard M a d e j , guard master B i t n e r and guard master HU j a r . Apart from the members of the Reg. police several officials of the economic control, who are not known to me by name, were seconded to carry out the baggage inspection. In addition, two members of the Prot. Kriminalpolice were present at the meeting for economic control officials. Before entering the train, we were informed by the officials of the economic control that we had to ask the disembarked passengers that they had to go to the check-up, while the passengers without luggage could leave the exit unhindered. At about 18.45 a.m., a train arrived from Friedeck at the station of Moravia-Ostrau-Witkowitz. With regard to the many rising people at this station, the officials assigned to carry out the checks were distributed in such a way as to ensure that the arrivals were handled as quickly as possible. The inspection itself was carried out in the immediate vicinity of the exit. I myself was away from the inspection centre about a few minutes ago and directed the arriving persons with luggage to the inspection center. I addressed the request to the persons in German and Czech language. At the same time I instructed the persons with baggage to the control center by showing by hand.
