44.9 The Imperial Protector in Bohemia and Moravia No. I 3 g - 1412/6585 Copy. To the Lord / President of the Central Statistical Office in P r a g VII Ws Bělskystraße 2 Subject: Authorization of statistical surveys The previous procedure for the approval of statistical inquiries requires a fundamental change. I have so far only been limited to allowing me to receive an accelerated notification of each approved survey, so that I was still able to raise an objection to the permit. Only the most important surveys have been discussed with my clerk's government councillor Dr. W i r t h before the permit was granted. With immediate effect, I would like to request in future any survey, regardless of whether it is a separate survey of the Central Statistical Office or a "foreign" survey, to obtain my authorization in such a way that, as far as it is an industry survey, Dr. D. r a n s k y, for all other surveys Dr. These two gentlemen submit to me the questionnaires to be approved weekly in the shortest and fastest way, as soon as they are particularly urgent within a period of three days. Dr. Dobransky and Dr. Behrens will immediately inform the competent staff in the Central Statistical Office of no decision. Surveys which your staff have doubts about their feasibility and which are already rejected by you are not to be reported to me by Dr. Dobransky and Dr. Behrens. In the future, all surveys to be reorganized, i.e. all newly established surveys and all periodic surveys, will be subject to your approval.
