English Translation
- 3 - the Theresian age, the period from the beginning of printed newspapers to the year 1740 and finally the forerunners of the newspaper system in Bohemia and Moravia / flyers etc./ Forgiven and planned individual investigations. The coming review shows that about half of the most important investigations have already begun and partly already far advanced. At the same time, it shows how extensive the research area is and how much uniform planning is required, but also that all the preconditions for a very satisfactory final success are given and the request for a well-known grant is justified. Two dissertations are from the time before the systematic approach to the research work, but these are part of the overall plan: 1/ Presse im Volkstumskampf åm Example of the Sudeten German. Doctoral thesis was completed at the end of the year. The thesis had already been brought along by the doctoral student from Leipzig. Printing is planned, but due to the difficulties of the approval must be suspended temporarily. 2/ The cartoon as a weapon in the Kx fight of the South German. Promotion took place in spring l943. The work concerned both the - unsuccessful - application of the caricature by the so-called "activist" German parties and by the Czechs against the Sudeten Germans as well as the - in the end successful - use of the cartoon by the SuDeten Germans. Erich Köhler /Erik/ and the "Igel" are largely referred to.The effects of the mockery have been investigated.Volks und Reich-Verlag is planning publication, which depends on whether censorship will give its consent. The following works are about to be completed and have already been adapted to the research objectives: 3/ The Jewish influence on the German-written leaves of Prague from lğl8 to l938 with a preference for the cultural part of the leaves. With this work, which is quite extensive, the assistant who has been working for the research work has been employed for one and a half years. The conclusion is to be expected in mid-1944. This work represents many insights into the numerous relations between the Czechoslovak government, the Jews, Freemasonry and foreign countries, and may provide a key for further representations of contemporary history from l9l8 to 1938. 4/ The economic crisis from 1929 to l934 in the report of the "Prager Tagblatt". The author, who is studying the economy, has already submitted the work for preliminary examination, offering an excellent, previously unavailable presentation of the course of the economic crisis within Czechoslovakia and explaining the opinion of a very private-economic-capitalist-oriented paper on this subject. 5/ The present "Brunner Tagblatt" and its predecessors. The author has been working on the "Brünner Tagblatt", whose Berlin representative is her father, and has passed the scriptural examination. The work is remarkable because a main author of the sheet was a Jew, but does not significantly influence the overall preservation of the leaf.
