The Secretary of State has the following message regarding the behaviour of the protectorate gendarmerie in Theresienstadt: "Recently, a small part of the Protectorate gendallerie in Teresienstadt endeavours to perform properly and in service to the Jews. However, the majority of the gendarmerie has maintained its Jewish-friendly attitude. Again and again, members of the Gendarmeri can be observed in friendly conversations with Jews, especially Jewish women. As was also noted, the Jews often stay in the guardhouses at the entrances to the city. In terms of service, the treatment of the Jews by the gendarmerie is still friendly. It was often noted that members of the Gendarmeria Germans behave rather harshly against each other. They speak e.g. The Secretary of State has handwritten the message: "Bdo".
