In contrast, Czech workers' and peasants' circles did not lack any clues explaining that an attempt to establish the second front had to fail in the strong German coastal defence. It was also discussed that the English sacrificed only the peoples of the aid; that the French could not be carried away to a revolt, was occasionally regarded as proof that the British had already lost any position on the continent. The German successes in the southern section of the Eastern Front were reduced by an apparently planned whisper propaganda and the interest of the Czechs was directed to the struggles in the central and northern sections of the eastern front, where the situation proves that the Bolsheviks are far from being at the end of their forces. Germany, on the other hand, was no longer able to endure the coming winter on the back of the poor raw material and supply situation. Even in the increasingly extensive bombing of German cities, which the Reich could no longer defend itself, one saw a sign of Germany's impotence. The lively whispering propaganda also dealt with the allegedly bad internal situation of the empire and claimed that the population in the empire was very dissatisfied with the present situation and that for this reason there had already been considerable unrest and hunger demonstrations. The declaration of war by Brazil to the Axis powers was deliberately built up on the Czech side and expressed the assumption that the other countries of Central and North America would soon follow this example. The third anniversary of the beginning of the war again led Czechs to consider that there had been a lack of decisive successes on the German side and that the single offensive in the southern part of the Eastern Front was very slow. Stalingrad had long been attacked by all means and could not be defeated, but there could no longer be a threat to Moscow and Leningrad.
