Copy. v.Both Division III Prague, 13 March 1943. No. V 3-1-287/43. To the Heckel 13.3. State Secretary by the hand of the Head of Division III. Betr.: Purchase of works of art for the galleries in Bohemia and 27.4.43 Moravia. The Reichsminister and head of the Reich Chancellery informed with writing of 20 March v.Js., Rk. 3524 B, that the Führer has provided the amount of 1.ooo.ooo,- A for the purchase of the works of Art as a replacement for the paintings from Raudnitz and Prague assigned to the gallery in Linz. The amount should not be transferred in one sum, but in individual amounts, which are derived from the purchases to be proved. In the letter, it is further asked, after conclusion of a purchase transaction, to have the purchase price due for the avoidance of correspondence and loss of time paid by the Oberkasse of the Reichsprotector advance. On 23 May v.Js. Professor Swoboda has been commissioned to propose suitable pictures for purchase. So far, the situation on the art market has not allowed purchases from the Führer's Special Fund, since works of art corresponding to the value delivered to Linz have not yet been offered. At the end of the month there will be a large auction of graphics in Leipzig near Boerner, in which Professor Swoboda will participate for the graphic collection of the Böhmisch-Mährische Landesgalerie. I would like to approve that Professor Svoboda from the funds of the special fund, if necessary, valuable sheets of German graphics yes ! e.g. In the event of an offer at a portable price for sale by Dürer, P. 27.5. e.g. B o t h
