10 -£- In this document, the military and political element, the operative and propagandist element, is usually inextricably intertwined, so that the division of the material into military and civil documents can only be artificial here. Although it also provides material for the military problems of the Bürgezkrieg, it illuminates its political side to a much greater extent. Even the undeniably military dolments with a purely ope-rative character from this epoch (such doluments, however, are only little present in the Arehiv collection) receive a much greater scientific value and a much larger embodiment in connection with the rest of the dolunents, which reflect the atmosphere in which the front formed, lived and fought. If one does not consider this atmosphere, then the study of the individual military operations turns into a joy of life scholasticity. For this reason, the Arohiv collections on the world war, the civil war and even on emigration, as a result of the close interweaving of the military element with all other questions, represent a unified, inseparable whole. In its present state, the archive collection has a great scientific value, especially as far as the lateral about the Bürgerkrieg is concerned, since it is the largest collection of documents of the "wisdoms" of all existing in the world. Here, in the remnants of government, administrative and military archives, in memoirs and in correspondence between politicians, practitioners and scientists, literally all the fronts of the citizen's court find their opposition. The importance of the Russian history archive was generally recognized in the earlier colds of scientific exchange. Each Eahr appeared in the Archive Wissenschaftlez, which had come from afar, to deepen into the rich archive collections and for more than one scientific book the documents were obtained from the Arehiv. The greatest experts have recognized the archive collection as irreplaceable, all the more because this collection is due to its "organic" connection - 4-
