Prague, 19 September 1942. THE PRIMATOR-STELL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE MAIN CITY PRAG Mr G.Z. 1132/42. ataat.Secretary, Ss-Group Leader Karl er ann F r a n k , Prag Czerrinpalavs. saaas.prt 0000 yeo Mahcen 20-SER1942 Very esteemed Mr. State Secretary ! I feel obliged before my conscience to inform you of an incident which is regrettable in several respects and which requires certain precautions for the future. A tripartite magistrate's commission, consisting of a district investigator and a uniformed government and municipal police officer, appeared in the private home of Mr. Lieutenant General Speich, Scharkatal 83, to determine whether he is breeding pigs. It was the control ordered by the Ministry of the Interior in the short term via the Central Statistical Office, which had to be carried out at random in the Prague city area. As the Commission's protocol shows, during her tour, she had been informed by neighbours of General Speich that a pig was being kept there. Such questions with neighbours are common and not only 1 in this particular case, although I naturally think that the relevant Czech inhabitants of the Scharkatales have been very happy to point out this German Ge- neral. When the head of the commission appeared in the General's house - the two policemen had stayed in the garden - and asked to be allowed to identify the existing stock of animals, he was told by the general's fellow after telefo- nical inquiry that he refused access, which the Commission held in protocol.
