40 - 7 - Loads of the Reichsverein Purchases of motor vehicles were made, of cars, of which I have never experienced anything. In November l939 the SS comradeship house Trebetov was declared alien from the ground office and the costs of the operation were charged to the Reich society. As far as Trebetov is concerned, it must be pointed out that Trebetova's properties were left to the German Reichsverein by the secret state police in June l939. However, a short time later, SS-Oberführer von Gottberg declared that Trebetov was required to operate an SS comradeship house. At that time, SS-Hauptsturmführer Herzig in Trebetov set up a service apartment for SS-Oberführers von Gottberg, as well as a kind of pension for the employees of the ground office. The operation took place under the leadership of the SS Hauptsturmführer Herzig, who received his instructions partly from SS Obersührer von Gottberg in his capacity as acting head of the Land Office. The fact that this was so wanted is due to the following fact: When SS-Sturmbannführer Baumann made the Reichsverein responsible for the operation in Trebetov, I immediately turned to SS-OberführER von Gottberg, who explained to me that Trebetow had nothing to do with the Reich Association, of course, but was an establishment of the Land Office. Finally, an amount of RM: 40.o0o,-- was written to the Reichsverein, which consists of a donation, which SS-Oberführer von Gottberg has made available to the Staegs- und Besiedlungshauptamt SS in Berlin. This amount cannot be paid back at the moment. I do not know any details about the origin of this debt. Alg Managing Director of the German Reichsverein, I made the statement to the Land Office to take over the cover of these off-site business, not because I was legally obliged to do so, but because I wanted to cover the prestige which, without doubt, would be difficult if the report were presented without explanation.
