Group Railways Prague, 7 May 1942 III/1 - 51 V 5-304/06 Office of the State Secretary To be presented to the office bein Fod op of the Lord's Secretary of State in Bhm ) T7ut Eing.: - 8 MA1 1942 Reference: St S IV K - 16a/41 of 10.4.1942 Betr: Verification of the safety conditions at the crossing in Moravia.Pisek Concerningly, I present a map of the passage in Moravia Pisek for inspection. From this it is clear that the overpass lies in the course of the district road Altstadt - Bisenz and crosses the two-track main railway Birnbaum - Prerau at an angle of 45o. The inclination ratios of the road can be seen from the longitudinal section entered in the sketch. The crossing is provided with simple barriers, which are served by the adjacent log house l23. The barrier trees are 90 cm above the upper edge of the road and are currently provided with 2 retro-reflectors. On each barrier tree a handle is attached in the middle, whereon a lantern with white starlight of 3.5 cm ø is hung. For road traffic are clearly visible car warning boards in 2lo and 225 m distance. The barrier itself is visible in the direction of Poleschowitz driving direction of the motor vehicle on the day of the accident at 79 m, calculated from the barrier. On the left side of the road the view is partly hindered by a tree at the last house before the crossing. 55 m in front of the barrier, however, is completely clear view. The star light on the barrier tree is visible in the same direction at 93 m and from 7l m from unhindered. In the opposite direction of Pisek, both the very anchor tree and the star light from a distance of l25 m are visible without hindrance. The view from the road to the railway line is hindered in both directions by small houses. During the local inspection, the guard who was on duty on the accident day was heard, explaining that the police car, which later suffered the accident, had stopped about d d d gang and, after his occupants had left, continued towards Poleschowitz. The guard noticed that the car was illuminated with a unique light. ©t, .K-16t/41
