12 December 1942. Höh.4- u.Pol. St.8.491/42. Behaviour of the police in the Czech Republic. Excluding. X 1.) Personally! 15. XII. 1942 To the commander of the order police, Mr. Lieutenant General Riege, Pr a g XIX, General Roettigstrasse l4. As the investigation into the murder case in Pilsen has revealed, one of the officers shot has entered the Czech population in a dutiful and honorable manner and has betrayed secretive actions. He has thereby given the perpetrators the incentive to eliminate him and his comrades by means of a political murder. As far as the relationship of this official with the Czech population is concerned, this is not an isolated case, because it is due to the negotiations before the Czech Republic. I and the police court found that members of the order police have repeatedly entered into personal relations with the Czech population, especially in intimate relations with Tsehechian women. Such an attitude is unGerman and not national socialist. It also shows that there is a lack of political leadership and constant instruction. I therefore renew the repeated, strict order that in the Protectorate any personal intercourse with the Czech Republic should take place.
