For journeys to the General Sovereignment and to the Protectorate, foreign motor vehicle drivers can be assisted by a German supervisor. 7.) The driving licence for foreign civilians shall be limited to the management of commercial vehicles; for the control of other vehicles the approval of the state police station is required. II. POWs 1.) Prisoners of war .with the exception of Soviet Russian war prisoners may acquire the German driving licence according to §§ 4 ff and 15 StvZO. (a) The application for a licence for a prisoner of war shall be accompanied by a certificate from the commander of the POW camp, to which the PWW belongs, that concerns are not raised against the use as a driver. (c) The licence must state that the holder of the licence is a member of the armed forces; it must be limited to a maximum of 6 months and may be renewed only under the conditions under which it may be granted, but without any further authorisation under §§ 4 et seq. and 15 hours0. On page I of the driving licence, the term "war gefan- gener" must therefore be affixed with red overprint or in red letters and be noted on page 4: "This driving licence is invalid on .......... and must then be delivered to the issuing authority. (d) The licence may only be used if the fan of war is accompanied by a person of trust. On page 4 of the licence, it must be noted that the driving licence is only valid if the prisoner of war is accompanied by a supervisor. 2.) Prisoners of war, with the exception of Soviet Russian war fans, may carry out journeys from farm to field as motorists in agricultural operations without the assistance of a passenger with all commercial vehicles. 3.) Exceptions to the provisions of points II J b and d may be approved by the Eehörde issuing the driving licence with the consent of the Kümmandanten of the relevant Krie_s-fangenlager and the Staatspolizeileitstelle. 4.) Notifications to the Samnelstelle for news about drivers of motor vehicles at the police headquarters in Berlin shall not be made for prisoners of war. 43929
