Two and a half years ago I put the fate of the Czech people in the hands of the leader and Chancellor of the Reich, who declared that he would take over the Czech People under the protection of the German Reich. I was already aware at that time that this act has given our people a valuable and secure position, and that time was unreliable and critical, and no one knew what events were going to happen to us and to all of Europe. However, I realized that the decision of March 15 gives us a quiet and frigid place if we unconditionally abandon all ideas of the past and concentrate on building a new life through our own work. We must never forget that vir stood in the eyes of the German people as a nation who came to search for it.
