Division I 3 No. I 3 a - 9400/Ww/303/43 26. JULY 1943 To the office of Mr. Secretary of State in the Czerninpalais Subject: Home Affairs of the Balý family in Mauth Reference: The letter from 6.6.1943 The District Chief -Reichsauftragsverwaltung - in Pilsen reports on the above matter as follows: "I find that the Baly family in Toth is an earlier more or less asocial family, who lived in the apartment which they now live in before the establishment of the Protectorate full 26 years. In passing, the family lived for years even in an abandoned factory building in order not to have to pay rent. It has never attached importance to a corresponding apartment, although its earnings relations were not always the worst. The apartment, from which the Baly's had to move out about a year ago by order of the government commissioner of Mauth, was not made up of two rooms, but of rooms and kitchens in the old school of the town. The school was then needed for industrial purposes, which is why several families from the abandoned factory building had to be moved here to other apartments. The Baly family was assigned the apartment, which had previously been inhabited by her, and which was now complained about by Wenzel Baly. I have nevertheless now assigned to the Baly Family a new apartment consisting of 2 rooms with more than twice the size of the floor area, which is inhabited by only 3 people. In Mauth, I can't provide an apartment for the family that is really in keeping with the head count and housing conditions in the rich, since most of the apartments here consist only of a single or two rooms and I have recently used all the somehow available rooms to accommodate more than 20 families, who for years under most humane conditions were located in a wagon colony on the periphery of the place, which meant a constant disease-ridden for my district and had to be removed under all circumstances." The request of the Wenceslas Baly of 1.6.1943 is attached. 1 Attachment in full Order: e.g.: G a w e n a t Certified: Kratchme fanziel 17 Employee St. S.X-1744/43
