France Since then, the Czechs in Paris, who were already very strongly represented there before the events of 1939, have been strengthened by the influx of political refugees from the Protectorate to a disproportionate extent. Their head was Dr. F 1 a n d e r k a, who is already in German custody. In Paris, practically the headquarters of the "Czech Home Organization" were located abroad. This headquarters worked in the police and intelligence field, while the Czech Legion was subordinated to the French Wehrmacht. However, the arrival of volunteers was not supposed to have reached the level that the leadership of the Czech resistance movement hoped to achieve. As in England, all Czechs living there were forced to join the Czech Legion under the former Czechoslovak Mobilisation Law. The composition of the leadership of Czech emigration was soon reported under III.
