7? B e r i c h t on the general political situation in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia for the period from 10.12.40-15.1.1941. The political situation of the protectorate has not changed substantially since the last reporting. Due to the difficulties in transport and food, the Italian defeats and the Roosevelt speeches, which are being exploited by the Czech whisper propaganda in an increased mass against the Reich, the waiting attitude of the Czech people and, above all, of the leading circles has become more evident. The "transformation action of the Czech people in the sense of the Reichsge- kannt" mentioned in a previous report has not been successful so far. In the area of administration, I have decided to take a strong intervention against the protectorate government. The official body of the Protectorate government is strongly translated. This is because the Czech officials from Slovakia and the areas separated under the Munich Agreement had to be admitted from the Protectorate. Numerous officers and non-commissioned officers were also taken over in the administration after the dissolution of the Czechoslovak army. For the past 1 1/2 years, the Protectorate Government has asked to ensure that its staff budget is reduced and that the remaining part of the civil servants are given the necessary opportunities for work and advancement.
