July 1940 B/H The Reichsverband für das catholic Deutschtum außerland (Reichsverband for Catholic Germanism abroad) allows itself to submit to the Herr Reichsprotektor in Bohemia and Moravia regarding the convict of German theologians in Prague: We refer to the memorandum of the College of Professors of the Faculty of Theology of the German Charles University in Prague, enclosed in a copy. This memorandum demonstrates the importance and necessity of the further expansion of the German Faculty of Theology at the University of Prague. The memorandum also demonstrates the need for a convict for the German theologians, in which the theologians are formed for the tasks of their later deployment close to the people and in accordance with church regulations. In the winter semester 1938/39 the professors of the Theo- logical Faculty created in the sense of responsibility for the formation of priests for the German Catholics of Protectorate, further parts of the Sudeten German territories and in view of the German catholics of south-eastern region with many victims and under many difficulties a provisional of such a convict in Prague-Veitsberg, which still exists today. This convoy can only be regarded as a provisional one, since it does not correspond in any way to the purposes of such a convoys recognized by the professorship as vitally necessary.
