16 - 2 = St.Gabriel Monastery in Prague-Smichow. The Reichs-kirchenministerium asked the Reichsprotektor to support these efforts by shouting from 17.8.194o. With a new letter dated 7.9.194o, the RKA presented its thoughts on the new building plan with detailed reasons. The Under-Secretary of State raised the question whether the Reich Protector should intervene in this matter at all, which was generally affirmed by the handwritten note of the Hermn Reich Protector yom 1o.9.194o. As from the letter of the representative of the SS of the Reichskirchenministerium to the Reich protector, director Dr. Veits, from September 194o (without date), approves the efforts of the RKA and tries to support the plan of acquisition of the monastery of St.Gabriel on the part of the official. As regards the building complex in question, the purchase of the former monastery of SaintGabriels is considered. This monastery, located in Prague-Smichow, was built in old Austria as a branch for nuns of the Benedictine Order. After the founding of the former Czechoslovak Republic, it laid its hand on the building and moved into it the post office, which remained here until the construction of the new building on Wenceslas Square. Today the monastery houses the Postmuseeum and a part of the post ministry. The buildings are constructed of raw stone in Romanesque style, connected to them is a Romanesque church similar to the collegiate church in Maria-Laach, the monastery is kept in the medieval construction and has a beautiful Romanesque cloister inside. The buildings are quite unbecoming and can accommodate about 15o persons.
