102 Prague, February 12, 1941. Major Hartel gives the following situation report: "As a result of the swelling of the water in the middle of the Vltava, the ice set in motion and stopped due to the release of water from the Wran dam in Wran a.d.Moldau near the island of St.Kilian. The water reached in Stechowitz the level of 6 m above normal (in the previous year 12 m). There is no threat of flooding for Stechowitz. The board of department 48 of the regional authority in Prague today went to StechOwitz to ensure that the ice could be set in motion. It is likely that the dam in Wran a.d.M. will have to be replenished in order to set the ice in motion in this way. From Stechowitz to Melnik there are no more ice floes on the Vltava and only drift ice floats on the water. The slope of the ice and the water level of the Beraun found their peak yesterday at about 19. After that the water levels as well as on the Berauer also sank on the Moldova. Except the two dead victims at Königssaal were reported to have no major damage until now."
