6b Short report on the ice and flood situation on ll.2. 1994l, morning. Due to the further halt of the thawing weather and the strong swelling of the inflows, the state authority in Prague, Abt.48, gave this morning the order for the supply of additional water from the dam level Wran, in order to bring the ice hatches at Moderschan and the closed ice cover in the city area of Prague to abort before the entrance of the ice duct on the upper Vltava and the Berau. The ice course in Prague is expected on the early afternoon of the ll.2.4l due to these measures at a water level about l50 cm at the old town mill level. The ice on the upper Vltava and Ottawa is already in motion. At the Beraun the conditions have continued to deteriorate. The pioneers of the German Wehrmacht used to blow up the ice only managed to remove the ice cover between Tschernoschitz and the rock Kazin. The ice transfer between Mokropes and Dobschichowitz is at present still unchanged. It is already flooded by the strong inflows coming from above. At Dobschichowitz, the second glacial passage of the Beraun has hit the first frozen ice passage and has come to a halt. Here, considerable water accumulations occur, which already flood considerable valley routes, as well as the railway line to Pilsen, so that the transport had to be stopped here.
