You now hear the president of the Czech Republic, Dr.Eduard Benesch: Yesterday it was four years when the famous agreement between the representatives of four major powers was concluded in Munich, which at that time also bore France's signature. One of the persons involved in the conclusion of this agreement was the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the time. I know that there were many good faiths in Europe at that time who regarded this agreement as a guarantee of peace. In reality, however, it was the beginning of an ever-increasing new world war and, at the same time, the start of a tremendous catastrophe that was threateningly gathering across Europe. Of the two criminal people who are still at the head of Germany and Italy today, that fateful pact of dictatorial peace was signed in Munich. On the fourth anniversary of that disastrous conclusion of the Pact, representatives of the Kingdom of France met with representatives of Czechoslovakia, in the person of the head of the fighting Free France, General de Gaulle, Czech Prime Minister Dr. Schrámek, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Masaryks, in order to ceremonially redeem and erase the signature of Daladier under the Munich Diktat. It is only a re-confirmation of the Convention of August 5, 1942, where the Munich Agreement was wiped out from history by both our side and by England. Now General de Gaulle, who truly possesses all moral qualities, has joined this declaration of invalidity. That fateful day of the year l938, where the spirit of Munich led the then leaders of Czechoslovakia to surrender and to so-called cooperation with Germany, no longer exists. France, too, has had a tremendous capitulation, and General de Gaule has been reserved for raising the French banner anew, and for the whole French people to be united in resistance to the German people.
