English Translation
- 2 - S 4/ The construction tasks entrusted to the organisation Todt by the leader of the new organisation, which are particularly important for the war, in the elimination of bomb damage, whose execution does not tolerate any delay, require a review of the previous fundamental rejection of the use of Czech workers in bomb-damaged areas. Since workers of the required kind are no longer available in the rest of the Reichsgebiet, compensation from the construction industry of the other Reichgebieter - as expressly emphasized in the decree of the Imperial Marshal - is no longer considered. The way out of the provision of Czechs in non-bombed areas in exchange for German construction workers, which was chosen in an earlier action, is therefore excluded. Despite the political concerns against the concentration of Czech workers in building bataillone and their clothing in uniform-like outer garments, which will undoubtedly provide the enemy propaganda with welcome food in the Protectorate and will further strain the mood at the present time, the execution of the order of the Reichsmarschall will not be avoided. Mr G i e s. I presented this matter to the Secretary of State in the motor vehicle on 29 September of the year. He wanted to talk to Gauleiter Sauckel himself about this. I do not know if this has happened. I should like to point out that the decision is urgent. M.E. can no longer be opposed to the request. X Prague, 4 October 1942 The Head of Division II Mp
