Copy! THE REICSMINISTER AND CHEF DER REICKSCANZLEI Berlin W 8, 8 May 1943 Voßstrasse 6 Rk. 5319 D Subject to the Supreme Reich authorities and the services directly under the Führer: Release of foreign housing by public services. February 1943 (RGBl.I, p.127), non-purposed living spaces are to be freed from the authorities and enterprises of the public and private right at the request of the municipality, if necessary with proof of other eigned office and advertising spaces. The Reichswohnungskommissar estimates the number of unpaid wages, which are free of charge, at a total of about 10.000. Therefore, their release plays an extremely important role in the containment of the prevailing hardship. It has been shown that the acquittal of foreign apartments is particularly difficult if they are located in Bütos by public authorities or other public services. Since the containment of housing shortages is becoming increasingly a political problem of the utmost importance, the Führer is waiting for the relevant services to offer all the living spaces that are still being used by them or by your subordinate departments for office purposes to be freed for residential purposes. Other accommodation must be provided as far as possible in barracks, empty shops and similar rooms, provided that the required space cannot be obtained by a narrower occupancy of the public service buildings. The Führer expects the public services to set a good example in this regard, and will be able to report in some time on which public services are still housed in a non-purpose space. For the military area, the head of the Wehrmacht's superior mando and for the party area, as far as this has not already been done, will issue corresponding orders. Dr. Lamm ers F.d.R.D.A.
