- 18 - 35 in the present time, in the war, of a particular strength, has already become a fixed fact. This is openly expressed even in the official leading organs of the Comintern. If, in spite of the condemnation of the present war because of its imperialist cha- racter, it was at the beginning of the warring events that it was about neutrally opposed, one can already see a change in the attitude of the Comintern after the prostration, especially France. In the appeals of the Executive Committee of the Communist International, the latter takes a stance against the war in the form it has known, and calls on the proletarians of all countries to fight against the imperialist war, against the fascist states and against the bourgeois democracies. It is an unmistakeable fact that the Comintern takes on the Franco-German section of the ComIntern especially in the present state of affairs. If the first loyal attitude is justified by the fact that the Cominterns - including the CPF - called for the elimination of the Versailler peace dictatorship, thereby partly explaining the above-mentioned attitude of the CPPF, it today stands up with the same force against the expected solution of the European problem after the war. It goes without saying that the Comintern is focusing its attention in the West of Europe primarily on the French people and on the crushed French state, especially since, in Lenin's view, France is already in a position to do so.
