The attitude of the official Soviet-Russian authorities after the conclusion of this Treaty, as expressed by speeches and statements by the People's Commissioner for Foreign Affairs M o l o t o w at the meetings of the Supreme Soviets of the USSR, can be considered loyal and, in all cases, correct. As reasons for and excuses for this treaty, the official Soviet authorities expressed to their people about the value of this treaty by crushing the coalition of the imperialist powers, which had found themselves in a common line through the Munich agreement and whose aims were supposed to be the war with the Soviet Union and its subsequent destruction. The Soviet Union was to prevent the involvement of its own state in the war and the liberation of hundreds of thousands of Polish nationals from the so-called "Gutsherrenst-aat" which looks outwards.
