7 the Higher Agricultural School in Kaaden continues the teaching. The building school for water management and cultural technology in Eger has only the pre-class and 2 years due to lack of older students. Overview of agricultural vocational schools: a) for boys: 91 schools (95) with 95 classes (102) and 1736 pupils (34), b) for girls: 115 schools (199) with 172 classes (180) and 3917 pupils (4192) respectively. As in previous years, the 3 horticultural vocational schools have 6 classes with 112 pupils (previous year 116) and 13 pupils (last year 9). 6.) Health care. In the period under review, diphtheria and scarlet disease decreased slightly compared with the previous month. The contagious swine paralysis in the district of Bischofteinitz is very low and even in the county of Mies there were only isolated outbreaks of epidemics. For the first time in the area the chicken plague was found in 2 farms of a community of the district Mies. In general, the status of animal diseases is otherwise favorable. Emergency slaughters, often caused by tuberculosis and bone softness, have recently increased; the effects of food shortages, deficiencies in the keeping and care of animals are noticeable; in the case of animals found on slaughtering livestock markets, the predominantly low level of nutrition is particularly noticeable. Unfortunately, the transport damage, which is usually caused by too long duration of the transports, also accumulates. Thus within 14 days alone in Karlovy Vary by train 10 pigs arrived dead. In another transport of 39 pigs from West Prussia 33 were settled. Here there is the suspicion of sabotage; the surveys are still in progress. The carcase disposal facility in Podersam is completed in the raw building except for the chimney, whose parts have now been delivered. If there is no delay in delivery of the machines, the facility is expected to be put into operation in May. In the execution of the veterinary service in the districts of Asch, Eger and Mariánské Lázně, due to insufficient allocation of petrol to the Government Veterinary Council, conditions in Eger which can no longer be held responsible are entered into. The official veterinarian is no longer in a position to make veterinary pests on the spot and to carry out the supplementary inspection. My efforts to achieve a change in this condition by increasing the allocation of petrol have so far been unsuccessful. 8.)
