17 3 3.) Wehrmacht. In the month of the report, the follow-up of the vintages 1897-1900 took place. The cancellations of the Uk positions and the convenings were kept within moderate limits, but caused noticeable failures in various departments. 599 conscripts were numbered in the district of Tepl. Of these 268 received the degree of fitness kv, 117 gvH., 163 av. The convenings are consistently recognized as a necessity, which is why there is generally no objection to them. Annoyance, on the other hand, causes the stay of younger generations in the home country. The question is again and again discussed that non-competent civilian personnel are employed in the Wehrmacht services with lower-quality work or are not employed. The use of shelter for Wehrmascht purposes continues. In Mariánské Lázně a decommissioned company (Hühenkaffee "Egerländer") was made available for hospital purposes. In Eger, the Wehrmacht wants to use the hotel "Esplanade" as a day. and overnight place for Wehrmascht members, which would lead to great difficulties, since already often up to 50 passers-by can find no quarters and have to spend the night in the station waiting room. 4.) Police. The security condition in the government district can be described as good. Despite the relocation of the vintages in 1901 and younger to the Pol. formations in the areas of operation, the number of indications, toll warnings and other activities of the police has not decreased. The rapid execution of the search for foreign labourers and prisoners of war shows that the remaining forces of the police are quite capable of mastering all assignments. The current service strength of the active gendarmes and gend. reserve is currently 532 compared to a nominal strength of 749 underleaders and men, which is 71%. The number of foreign workers employed in the government district is currently 31 500, the number of prisoners of war 17 836. A particularly striking escape movement is not to be found compared to the previous months. Usually 50-80% of the refugees foreign workers and prisoners of conscience are taken again. The behaviour of the foreign forces in the workplaces gave little cause for intervention during the month in question. It is clear that with the events on the fronts, especially in Africa, a certain increase in passive resistance has occurred. In this context it is worth noting that the Ukrainians, who have so far kept their distance from the Sovyets, have recently entered into a friendly relationship with them. On the other hand, after the discovery of Katyn's case, the Polish workers have withdrawn noticeably from the Soviet Russians. The firefighting measures, in particular the combination of individual firearms into viable formations, have increased the impact.
