16 - 2 - The Pliegerattacks on 17.4. on meadow ground and 14.5. on Pilsen naturally caused a special disturbance in the Ragierungsbezirk. It is remarkable that in the attack on Pilzen a leaflet of the opponent was dropped for the first time (G 28), which deals with the gas war b:. Although the policing forces have endeavoured to secure this leaflet by means of comprehensive search operations, it is never possible to prevent leaflets from becoming accessible to the public. Since there is a fear that the terrorist attacks in the area of Pilsen will be repeated, it has been observed in several communities that the inhabitants leave their homes and go outside for the night. As a result of this behaviour there may be a threat to the population, an order has been issued to the Landrats, which have ordered a thorough investigation of the population. Finally, the reduction of the meat ration has not contributed to the invigoration of the mood. It was pointed out in this connection that earlier omissions had been made, in particular the remarks made by the Reichsmarschall in his speech on the Thanksgiving Day of the previous year, that the food situation could only improve. Now it is more disappointing that this assurance could not be met. It is also expected that the reduction of the nutritional base will lead to a far-reaching increase in the trade in sheepmeat; as far as possible, attempts will continue to be made to counter these excesses; however, it has to be noted from the experience gained so far that they will not be able to be covered by political means alone. Here again and again, and now to an increased extent, the party and the press must use the authority of the party. The German people, whose healthy parts have the unconditional will to persevere to an unlimited extent, will also take on themselves, if it has the certainty that the burdens are evenly distributed. 2.) Party and divisions. On 16.5. In the local groups there were dignified celebrations on the occasion of the distribution of the maternal honour crosses. In various circles there were regular appeals by the Political Loiter and the Land Council, the district head, the head of the employment office, the mayor and local farmers' leaders. These meetings, in which the Landrat, the head of the employment office and the district farmers' leaders usually hold a roferate and the circuit leader gives general indications, are likely to be very useful, since they are able to direct all the factors of public life to a common policy, to keep them on important questions on the running and thus to enable them to act in an enlightening and directional way and to cope with the many difficulties that arise. The terrorist attack on Wiesengrund placed the highest demands on the party and its glicderings. The NSv. immediately took over the accommodation and catering of the homeless and later the intervention forces and solved this task well. Also dic Frauenschaft and the HJ. have proved themselves fully in the relief measures. 3.
