Betr.: Darstellung des Panslawismus. At the request of the envoy at the Federal Foreign Office, SS Oberführers-Prof. Dr. S i x, a meeting on the planned *Panslawisms-Werk* took place on 9 November in Berlin. The secret council of Roth from the cultural department of the Federal Foreign Office expressed the fear that a new German presentation of Pan-Slavism would revive the pan-Slawic ideas among the peoples of Slavic tongue. In the discussion, Geheimrat Roth developed the opinion that Pan-Slavism was refuted as a movement and would only play a role again if it were recognized by the German side as a spiritual potency for knowledge. He therefore had doubts about the treatment of this thema and, above all, about a publication. From the point of view of cultural-political tactics, it was not desirable for a German book on pan-Slavism, but rather a work of Slavic scholars in which Pan-Slawism is refuted. After several employees of the Federal Foreign Office's cultural division had expressed their views on the question, the undersigned took the following position: 1) The work of the Reinhard Heydrich Foundation does not aim to prepare a German polemical writing against Pan-Slavism. On the contrary, it is intended to give the German services the opportunity to inform themselves thoroughly about the overall context. The only presentation that is available in German is a Jew and has long since been scientifically outdated.
