They must always bear in mind that the economy in the national socialist Germany is not an end in itself, that the valuation of their work does not depend on the level of the profit achieved, but that it is a matter of achieving the highest benefit for the whole. In the new realm, the economy can always be only a member of the community, i.e. of the whole, and can have lasting results only if it is supported by the joyful willingness to place itself in all that the general public must demand of it. This desire is all the more justified because, here in the Protectorate, the enormous advantages enjoyed by the economy compared to other countries and states cannot be overlooked. The enterprises lack no labour force and the area is almost safe under the protection of the insurmountable German Wehrmacht from the effects of enemies and the associated operating and sales disturbances. This also results in special obligations for the economy of the Protectorate, the loyal fulfilment of which I expect.
