English Translation
A. Orders. I. Commands of the Leader. 1. Basic order of the Führer on reporting in the Wehrmacht. a) The Führers ordered on December 26, 1941: 1) Each report - regardless of its nature - is a means of leadership and can give the instigation to decisive resolutions. 2) Each report must therefore be carried by the principle of unconditional love of truth and conscience. 3) Any message must also be written in such a way that it gives the superior body a clear picture of the situation or an unambiguous answer to the questions asked. 4) Exaggerations and beauty dyeing are dangerous. To report unfulfilled demands and cigene errors truthfully is to honor every soldier. 5) Each superior has the duty to verify dubious reports and to work with relentless rigour to ensure compliance with the above principles. Conversely, the subordinates must know that reports are only required where they are actually necessary. b) The Reichsführer-/ has ordered that the above command also be valid for the weapons and is to be considered in detail ($ Chief Executive Officer, January 31, 1941). 2. Name "Ostmark". The Führer wishes that the term "Ostmark* is no longer used. Instead of this previous collective name, the name "Alpen- und Donau-Reichsgaue" is to be used, as far as the performance of the individual Reichsgaues (Vienna, Carinthia, iederdonau, Oberdonau and Salzburg, Styria and Tirol-Vorarl-berg) is not appropriate for special reasons.
